Ahmed Musa has declared that it is high time the Super Eagles broke the jinx in ties against Argentina at the FIFA World Cup.

Musa, who spoke with news men after his brace against Iceland in Volgograd, however, believes that the 4-2 win in a 2017 friendly against the Albiceleste is a different ball game.

“I feel this is the time for us to beat Argentina at the World Cup and by the grace of God we will do that,” Musa told TheCable.

“We don’t have to think about the friendly win against them.”

Musa admitted that the Iceland team are a fantastic side but unlucky against the Super Eagles.

“Iceland are a fantastic team. It is one of the hardest sides I have faced,” he said.

“They were unlucky. I wish them the best against Croatia.”

The Leicester City forward said it was Gernot Rohr’s tactical change that helped the Eagles to win the match and not the temperature.

“The weather didn’t help anyone because most of us are playing in Europe. It’s not about the weather but the way we played,” he said.

“Our left full back had a yellow card and the coach had to make the switch which helped us a lot. We went for it and got the result. It was a good one for us. I am proud of myself, my coaches, and teammates for the support I got today.

“We are very proud of ourselves. For me, I don’t see anything special about scoring two goals. I am usually happy whenever I score.

“My loan move to CSKA Moscow helped me a lot. I want to thank the management of the team. They made me what I am today and I am very grateful to them. I will go back to Leicester City and think of the next step to take.

“Whether I will stay at the club or move on that will be after the World Cup.”

Nigeria will clash with Argentina for the fifth time at the Mundial in St. Petersburg on Tuesday.
