The opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) says it will never buy votes in any election in the country no matter the level of machination of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
The party made its stand known in a statement released on Tuesday signed by its National Publicity Secretary, kola Ologbondiyan.
The party reiterated its position that it didn’t induce voters with money in the Saturday governorship election in Ekiti state but engaged in democratic campaign before the election.
”The party never bought any vote in the July 14, 2018 governorship election in Ekiti state like the APC did and the leadership of the party will never allow such practice under any guise”.
”The PDP spent its resources and energy on democratic campaign that preceded the Ekiti state election and never set up kiosks the ”see and buy” of the votes as the APC unabashedly did”.
The party vowed to resist any attempt abuse of democratic norms from APC like it did in Ekiti state.
”PDP will never allow the APC to get away with its crass abuse of democratic norms through which it suppressed the will of the Ekiti People and appropriated victory to itself like the governorship election”.
